Guided Overnight Backpacking Trip - Crystal Cove State Park - 12/13/2025

Education-focused guided overnight hikes are available for hands-on learning.  During these overnights, we will: 

• Go over every aspect of backpacking in detail
• Take part in hands-on demos including how to properly pitch a tent, filter water, properly adjust a backpack, navigate without cell service, use emergency satellite communicators, prepare food, and much more.
• Inspect all of your gear and clothing, make sure you know how to use it, and discuss upgrades or alternatives
• Inspect all of my gear so you can get an idea of what a seasoned backpacker uses
• Get to know fellow beginner backpackers!

Currently, all overnight trips will take place in Crystal Cove State Park (Laguna Beach, CA) and will be limited to 6 people.  Primitive backcountry sites are only a 3 mile uphill climb from the parking lot, so this is an amazing shakedown trip to test out your gear.  These sites do have bathrooms, but there is no water available so you must bring what you need for drinking and cooking.

After booking your spot, you will receive full instructions.  I will personally reach out with questions about the gear you are bringing to make sure you are prepared.

Cancellation Policy: Booking fees are non-refundable. However, if you’re unable to attend, I’ll gladly assist in rescheduling your session for a more convenient time.
